One of Michael ' s favourite coins is the Treasures of Australia 2007 1oz Silver Proof Locket Coin with Sapphires designed by Justin Graham. The reverse design portrayed an abstract interpretation of Australia ' s stark and beautiful landscape, and featured a half-circle capsule containing approximately 1-carat of sapphires.
“ This coin was one of the first real challenging jobs for me. The software we were using for sculpting was very basic compared to today, and with no touch screens everything was done by mouse. The inserted capsule also presented technical issues, so it was a great personal achievement when the coin was finally released."
