INTRODUCING

Susanne Massberg

Product Development & Packaging Specialist
TELL US ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY AT THE PERTH MINT
I have been at the Mint for more than 19 years and have seen it grow enormously in size, product range and diversity. Looking back, being new to the precious metal industry, I learned quickly that there are many facets in the development and production of precious metal products, especially numismatic collectibles, from refining, coin design to production and packaging. Packaging has always been a passion, and I love being able to develop unique packaging solutions that add value to our products and enhance our brand and customer experience.
DESCRIBE A DAY IN YOUR ROLE
No two days are the same. Collaborating with our design, project management and sales teams, suppliers and production to develop packaging ideas and bring our final product to life is very rewarding. Keeping up with industry trends, new packaging materials and sustainable technologies is all part of the process.
WHAT IS THE MOST CHALLENGING PART OF YOUR JOB?
The packaging is integral to our products and needs to last over generations in some cases. Balancing packaging performance, innovation and superior presentation with practical production requirements and sustainability is a key factor.
