NEW RELEASE
Outback runner
A superb addition to your collection of iconic animal coins, this 1oz silver coloured piece celebrates the emu, a remarkable Australian bird that appears on our national coat of arms.
Found only in Australia, the emu is the world’ s second largest bird. Although its wings may be small and unfit for flight, the emu compensates with its strong set of long legs, powering it to sprint at speeds up to a thrilling 50km per hour.
Unique in nature, the male emu will protect and incubate the eggs for eight weeks, rarely leaving the nest for food and water. Born with distinctive brown stripes for camouflage, emu chicks become independent around seven months of age.
