A lasting tribute
In 2026, people across the world pause to reflect on what would have been the 100th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II— a monarch whose presence shaped an era.
Born on 21 April 1926, she ascended the throne in 1952 at just 25 years old, following the passing of her father, King George VI. Her marriage to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, in 1947 marked the beginning of a lifelong partnership, and together they raised four children while navigating the responsibilities of public life.

Queen Elizabeth II passed away on 8 September 2022, leaving behind a legacy that continues to resonate deeply. She was succeeded by her eldest son, King Charles III. Now, as we mark the centenary of her birth, we celebrate not only a remarkable life but also the values she embodied— service, dignity, and devotion.
To honour this historic milestone, The Perth Mint is releasing a special collection of commemorative coins in 99.99 % pure gold and silver that reflect some of the most meaningful moments and symbols of her extraordinary reign.
The reverse design of the 1oz silver proof coin includes the five effigies of Queen Elizabeth II, each featured on coins produced by The Perth Mint. At the centre is the most recent effigy of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Jody Clark( 2019), elegantly framed in an ornate design. Together, these portraits reflect the evolving image of the monarch across seven decades of her historic reign. The background features Australia’ s national floral emblem, the golden wattle, symbolising the nation’ s connection to the Commonwealth.
