Struck from 91.67 % pure gold in proof quality, this coin features 22-carat pink gold gilding and a modern take on the classic St George and the Dragon design.

Production of traditional sovereigns from Western Australian gold was the lifeblood of The Perth Mint in the years up to 1931. One hundred and six million pieces were struck, each bearing Benedetto Pistrucci’ s classical St George and the Dragon design and a‘ P’ mintmark.

This modern collectable re-imagines the famous design by Benedetto Pistrucci. The new work portrays a naked warrior on horseback brandishing a sword above a dragon. The image appears within a decorative circle of raised dots, together with the inscription‘ AUSTRALIA’,‘ 2025’, and The Perth Mint’ s‘ P’ mintmark. The dots, inscriptions, table and rim are gilded in stunning 22-carat pink gold.
