The coins ' reverse depicts a charming koala clinging to a tree trunk amongst eucalyptus foliage. Included on the reverse are the inscriptions‘ KOALA’ and The Perth Mint’ s‘ P’ mintmark, as well as the coin’ s weight, purity and 2025 year-date.

The 1oz silver coin has been exclusively minted for the Beijing International Coin Exposition, held from 31 October to 2 November 2025. The design features a coloured privy mark of a panda, the national emblem of China. This release is packaged in a beautifully illustrated presentation card portraying the panda as well as Australia ' s own national ' bear '.
