Symbol of remembrance

Anzac Day falls on 25 April each year , the day Australian and New Zealand troops landed on the Gallipoli peninsula in 1915 .
Since 1916 , it has been dedicated to commemorative activities honouring the courage and sacrifice of the first ANZACs during World War I and all succeeding Defence Force personnel who have served in times of war and other operations .
Our 2024 commemorative Anzac Day coin features a representation of a war memorial , a place for people to gather and remember those who have served in and died as a result of war . Set against a waterway among hills , the obelisk is surrounded by two flags , both at half-mast . Also included in the design is a motif representing an eternal flame and the words ‘ LEST WE FORGET ’, the 2024 year-date a ‘ P125 ’ mintmark signifying The Perth Mint ’ s 125th anniversary .
