More than 30 years after it was welcomed by collectors , the Australian Kookaburra continues to break new ground with the introduction of this stunning 5oz silver coin featuring our first ‘ incused ’ impression of the beady-eyed bird .
Traditionally , motifs on a coin have raised relief . However , where the design is described as incused , it is pressed into the surface of the blank .
As well as this more unusual technique on the reverse , the unique collectable also features a spectacular high relief obverse . With an exceptionally low mintage , the call of this coin will be too hard for dedicated collectors to resist !
